Now I want to know – how can I get my chia seeds AND my booze, too? Sometime's mama's gotta have her relaxing glass of wine at the end of the day. You know what I'm saying, ladies.
Tart Cherry Chia Cocktail
What You'll Need
6 ounces (3/4 cup) 100% tart cherry juice (try to find one with no added sugar or flavoring)
1 ounce (2 tablespoons) St. Germain elderberry liqueur
1 ounce (2 tablespoons) seltzer water or club soda
2 tablespoons black or white chia seeds
8 ounces (1 cup) Champagne or sparkling white wine, chilled
How To Make
1. Combine tart cherry juice, St. Germain, seltzer, and chia seeds in a medium measuring cup. Whisk to combine, then let stand for about 20 minutes.
2. Allow the mixture to chill in the fridge until cold (about 30 min to an hour), then whisk again before using. This makes about 1 cup of cherry-chia gel, which will keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks (so you can totally make it ahead of time!)
3. When you're ready to serve, evenly distribute cherry chia gel into your best champagne flutes. Top with Champagne or sparkling wine. Gently stir just before serving to evenly distribute chia seeds and give a beautiful presentation. Serve with cocktail stirrers for maximum enjoyment!
