In the midst of a Cinderella season, the Cubs just got great news: talented slugger Jorge Soler is coming back from a long DL stint.
Soler, who was sidelined for 23 games with an oblique injury, completed his rehab stint for Class-A Myrtle Beach.
Cubs manager Joe Maddon is pleased to have Soler back at his disposal. "It's something everyone has been talking about for a while," Maddon said Thursday morning. "I'm seeing it firsthand. And this is the first year of being together. Not even a whole year yet. That's pretty impressive, what they've done in one year."
While Soler has missed a pretty nice chunk of the season, the young outfielder still boasts a solid statline of .265 with seven home runs this season.
