Here are your Top 5 Plays of the Day!
5. Salvador Perez (Kansas City Royals)
Was Salvador Perez a shortstop? You definitely don't see that too often with catchers! Perez calls off Yordano Ventura, catches the ball barehand, and guns one down first to get the out. What a play by Salvador Perez, the catcher for the Kansas City Royals! Yes, a catcher! Kansas beat Cleveland 8-4.
4. Adam Jones (Baltimore Orioles)
Runners on first and second. But if you have Adam Jones in center, he is not going to let you score two runs when a ball's hit towards him. He makes an amazing catch, rolls over, and saves two runs! Oh right. He also ended that inning with his catch. The Orioles beat the Rays 4-3, thanks to Jones's amazing catch.
3. Torii Hunter (Minnesota Twins)
Who said Torri Hunter is the old guy on the Twins? He still has some game left in him. He sprints for the ball, slides beautifully onto the warning track, and makes the catch. What a play by the forty year old veteran outfielder! The Twins however fall to the Angels 11-8.
2. Francisco Lindor (Cleveland Indians)
He makes the list again, this time with a second place-caliber play! It's hit sharply to short, but Francisco Lindor is there to make the diving, backhanded catch and makes the throw to first. Frankie Lindor with the run saving play, but unfortunately, the Indians fall to the Royals 8-4.
1. Carlos Correa (Houston Astros)
There comes the shift for Prince Fielder. Correa is on the right side of second base as he gets ready to grab that grounder from Fielder. However, pitcher Lance McCullers reaches for the ball, but it bounces off McCullers's glove. Correa wasn't expecting it but reacts quickly to catch the ball on his knees, and makes a perfect throw to first to get Fielder out at first. The Astros however falls to division rival Rangers 8-2.
