Feliz Día de los Muertos

Although Halloween and Día de los Muertos are celebrated around the same time, they are not the same!

So, here's some info about Día de los Muertos!

The Purpose:

Día de los Muertos is a holiday that's celebrated in Mexico, and many Lain American countries. It is to celebrate and remember family members and friends who have passed away.

How It's Celebrated:

Foods are made such as pan de muertos (bread). Bread or even candy are made into the shape of a skull. But there are also other foods that are eaten on this holiday like mole and tamales. In addition to food, the holiday is celebrated by visiting the cemetery and setting up an altar with a photo of dead loved ones.

The Symbol:

The skull is the symbol for this holiday. La catrina, or "the lady in the hat" is one of the most recognized symbols of the holiday. The skull is worn to mock death.

If you celebrate Día de los Muertos, what do you love most about the holiday?

I like cheeseburgers and cheap wine.
