They did it.
They actually did it!
The Mets clobbered the Cubs last night - AGAIN - to complete a four game sweep against all the odds.
They were underdogs heading into Los Angeles for the NLDS and grinded out a series win.
They smothered them right from the get-go.
Check this: the Mets never trailed in the NLCS with the Cubs. Not even for a minute.
It all happened so fast.
It was already 4-0.
By the end of the top of the second, it was 6-0 Mets.
The Mets put those dreams to bed in a total of about 15 minutes.
If Duda can get going for the World Series, there is no limit on the power this team has. Last night showed that.
It was flukey after he had homered in three straight. It was shocking after four. After five, things turned upside down.
But six consecutive games with a homer? That's just outrageous.
I'm going to have plenty to say about this team in the days before the World Series kicks off on Tuesday. I can hardly contain my excitement.
For now, it's time to celebrate.
I remember the last time the Mets were in the World Series - it was the Subway Series of 2000. I was six years old. Today, I feel like a six year old kid again.
I'm going to say it again: the Mets are going to the World Series.
The Mets are going to the World Series.
