The video was uploaded by an iphone and it shows three Sudanese and Somali students getting rejected from an Apple store in Melbourne's Highpoint Shopping Centre. The three students were approached by staffers of the store, and then escorted after the offensive response by the staffers.
On tape you can hear the conversation between the man and the students:
“They’re worried you might steal something,” says the man.
“Why would we steal something?” asks one of the boys.
“Guys, guys, end of discussion. I need to ask you to leave the store.”
Ésë who was one of the students said was shocked by the Apple staffers. "It was just really offensive when he said 'we are afraid you are going to steal something.' It was shocking; it was racism,” he told Mashable. “He didn’t even give us a chance."
An Apple spokesperson said the incident is currently under investigation.
