Police Arrest Man With 51 Live Turtles In His Pants

A Canadian man plead guilty in Michigan federal court earlier this week after being tried for smuggling dozens of live turtles across the US-Canadian border - in his pants.

Kai Xu, a 27-year-old University of Waterloo student, was stopped by the Canada Border Services Agency as he attempted to make his way into Ontario last August.

"noticed irregularly shaped bulges under Xu’s sweatpants on both his legs."

Among the 51 turtles confiscated, the agency was able to find several North American varieties, including eastern box turtles, red-eared sliders, and diamondback terrapins - many of which sell for as much as $800 each.

As it's currently illegal to export wildlife from the United States, Xu could serve up to 10 years in prison for his crime.

I, however, hope that they are inspired by the fight for justice and dedicate the rest of their lives to taking down bad guys with impressive ninja-like agility. (Yes, all 51 of them.)

What do you guys think? Does Xu deserve 10 years in prison? Do the turtles deserve a group trip to Disney World?
