For this project, you will need:
-- 1 cup of salt
-- 1 cup all-purpose flour
-- 1/2 cup of water
-- Parchment paper or aluminum foil
-- Pen or toothpick to make a hole
-- Glass cup or circle cookie cutter
-- Twine or ribbon
-- Permanent marker
You can find these items at a grocery store and at a craft store.
Create the ornament shape
Mix the salt, flour and water in a bowl until the mixture becomes firm. Knead the mixture for 30 seconds. Place the dough on the aluminum foil or parchment paper. Then, use a glass to make circles from the dough, as shown in the picture above.
Make the paw print
Take your animal's paw and push it into the dough. Then, take the toothpick or pen and make a hole to hang the ornament on your tree. Bake the ornament in your oven at 200 degrees Fahrenheit for 2-3 hours until the ornament is hard. Let it cool completely.
Decorate the ornament
Paint your ornament and add glitter. This is where you can let your creativity run wild. You can even write your pet's name and the year on the ornament with the permanent marker. Then, take a piece of twine or ribbon and string it through the hole in the ornament to make a hanger to hang the ornament on the tree.
