Last week, I wrote a card about an announcement that Fallout made about an announcement that they were going to make in the near future about their DLC plans. Almost every blog and person I talked to about the game assumed that they were going outline their DLC plans at the end of this month during a Microsoft conference.
Well, I'm pleased to say that instead of waiting, Bethesda Game Studios decided to release some of that news this morning. It's all pretty interesting stuff and I'm excited to finally get my hands on these new additions.
Automatron, Release Date: March 2016
Automatron (which will be priced at 9.99 USD)
The mysterious Mechanist has unleashed a horde of evil robots into the Commonwealth, including the devious Robobrain. Hunt them down and harvest their parts to build and mod your own custom robot companions. Choose from hundreds of mods; mixing limbs, armor, abilities, and weapons like the all-new lightning chain gun. Even customize their paint schemes and choose their voices!
Wasteland Workshop, Release Date: April 2016
Wasteland Workshop (priced at 4.99 USD)
With the Wasteland Workshop, design and set cages to capture live creatures – from raiders to Deathclaws! Tame them or have them face off in battle, even against your fellow settlers. The Wasteland Workshop also includes a suite of new design options for your settlements like nixie tube lighting, letter kits, taxidermy and more!
Far Harbor, Release Date: May 2016
Far Harbor (priced at 24.99 USD)
A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.
That's not all though! They are also increasing the price of Fallout 4's Season Pass to 50 dollars instead of its usual 30 on March 1st. But if you decide to buy the Season Pass now for 30 dollars, you'll still get all the DLC without having to pay extra. If you're like me and purchased the Season Pass immediately without knowing anything, you probably feel pretty good right now. I feel pretty good right now. I think it's awesome that Bethesda is still going to honor the original price they set for the Season Pass.
And that still isn't all! In the blog post, they said they're in the process of testing the all new Survival mode and (for you PC players out there) the Creation Kit so hopefully soon we'll find out how we can start modding our games alongside this new hardcore mode. I'm extremely excited to see how they implement it into the game (the Survival mode that is) and it looks like they're just going to be updating it through a patch (or at least I'm still hoping).
