{MM} Reasons to Read Manga

Happy Monday, Nakama!

Here we are again on another Manga Monday, where we gather to share the ways we love all things manga.

Here are just some reasons that you should read the manga of the anime you love so dearly. Gotta go to the source.

You Can Do it For Free!

You can freely read manga online by reading the fan translations. People work super hard on these translations, and so you can fairly safely assume that you're getting an accurate translation. Of course, you should support the official volumes whenever possible (mangakas need to eat, too!) but when you're in a financial pinch, you still can read for free. There's even apps for it now.

There are so many manga, you guys. Like, so so so many. There's a plethora of awesome manga that never got made into anime, but still have these amazing stories packed into them. The only way you'll find the good ones is if you plunge headlong into the waters of manga.

Manga and anime both are visual mediums, so the art is definitely part of the main focus of any good manga. Some mangakas pack amazing levels of detail into these images, and the visual sensations of it are beautiful. Be it simple character designs or massive beasts of world-crushing scale, the art of manga is not something to scoff at.

Staying Ahead

Manga spawns anime, which spawns more fans and cosplays and new experiences. By reading manga first, you have the opportunity to read great stories and be exposed to good art before it gets turned into anime. You get to be on the cutting edge of things, before your friends. Who doesn't want that?

Vin. New York born and bred. Big fan of stories in every form- oral, written, televised or otherwise. I like to hear great stories as well as tell good ones.
