Sweeeeet Sangria Facts!

Sangria is one of my favorite alcoholic beverages -- it's sweet, but not so sweet. It's tasty, but it's not overwhelming. Made with anything your sweet heart desires, from apples to peach!

1) Sangria is usually made with red wine, fruit juices, fruit, soda water (and sometimes brandy).

2) In the south of Spain, sangria is often called zurra. And this sangria is made with peach or nectarine. Yummm!

3) Sangria made its debut in the U.S. in 1964 for the World's Fair in New York.

4) Cinnamon and brandy are classic ingredients for sangria in Portugal (sounds perfect for the chilly weather!)

5) The word 'sangria' came from 'sangre,' which is Spanish for blood. This is in reference to its red color.
