Frozen Blood Orange Negroni

Jayme Marie Henderson's photo of this spectacular Frozen Blood Orange Negroni gave me an instant brain freeze in the best way possible! Like, I can practically taste this in my mouth RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND!

I want all my brides to take note of this thirst-quencher for your hot summer nuptials. Keep your guests chilled to the max with this beverage. And who doesn't love a good deep citrus drink to keep your wits about you? Especially when you're in mixed company at a social gathering!

Take a look:


1 ounce gin

1 ounce Campari

1 ounce sweet vermouth

3 ounces freshly squeezed blood orange juice (about 1 1/2 blood oranges)

1 1/2 to 2 cups ice, preferably crushed

Fresh thyme sprigs, for garnish


In a blender, combine the gin, Campari, sweet vermouth, and blood orange juice. Add ice and blend, starting on the lowest setting and increasing to the highest setting. Add more ice if you desire a thicker consistency. Pour the frozen Negroni into chilled glasses and garnish with a sprig of thyme or an orange wheel.
