With the Olympics around the corner, Team USA is doing their best to assemble the best collection of talent to compete against the best athletes in the world.
For the past decade, the nucleus of Team USA's success has been Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony Dwayne Wade and Lebron James.
The amazing run of the "Fantastic Four" will come to an end this summer, as Chris Paul has decided he won't play for Team USA in 2016.
During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Paul shared why he is passing on the Olympics:
‘Daddy, will you play in the Olympics again?’” Paul said. “Part of me wanted to say yes, because he’s never been part of it. But I told him, ‘I want to spend more time with you.’”
While one last run for Team USA would be great for Paul, it's great to see that he has put his family first in this situation.
Team USA also is LOADED at point guard, with John Wall, Damian Lillard, Stephen Curry and Russell Westbrook available. I think it's safe for him to pass the torch to another rising star.
