Epik High at Coachella 2016

For those who don't know... Epik High was at Coachella!!!

For those who don't know what Coachella is, it's a music and arts festival held in the Coachella Valley in California. Famous artists from many genres perform at Coachella and many celebrities come to see them, blending in with the crowd. And for those who don't know Epik High, they are a South Korean hip hop group that debuted in 2001 (I think...). Epik High's genres include: hip hop, alternative hip hop, old-school hip hop, and pop-rap. Epik High consists of three members, Tablo, Mithra Jin, and DJ Tukutz.

This is honestly amazing because it introduces kpop to a whole new audience. Many people hear kpop and either think of Psy or some weird mv they've seen. Epik High is a great group to introduce to Coachella's audience and I believe it opens a new door for kpop to make its way into the U.S. I think in general, kpop is able to make good and interesting without including sex, drugs, and alcohol, which is a recurring theme in the American music industry. Kpop brings a bright and fresh music style that takes a break from all the sensual stuff. They can give us the nice cutesy, lovey-dovey relationships and heart-wrenching breakups in their own way.

Epik High has gotten a lot of media coverage on their performance at Coachella. They've received a lot of praise and congratulations on their amazing performance since then! They will be performing at Coachella again on Sunday, April 24, 2016@1:20pm (Pacific time) on the Sahara Stage!!
