During the end of the regular season, Kenny Smith playfully said that Inside the NBA should add Kobe Bryant to their roundtable to join Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’ Neal and Charles Barkley to their hilarious and informative hoops show.
While the guys may have been joking, the head honchos at Turner Sports must have thought this was a good idea.
Rumor has it that they have reached out to Kobe to join the show.
Both Kenny (Smith) and Shaq have publicly talked about wanting Kobe to join the panel on the TNT show after he retired from the NBA … and now, our sources tell us the courting has officially begun.
It’s unclear if producers are trying to lock Kobe up to join the guys for the current NBA playoffs … or if they’re looking more toward getting him as a regular for next season.
As one well-placed source connected to the show put it … “We’d love to have Kobe.”
Bryant’s current plans for retirement remains placing his focus on his Kobe INC.
business, but should those plans change it seems like we could be seeing Kobe on the boob tube in the near future.
