Y/n’s POV

I woke up a mess- again. I checked the time - 8:10 am. Hoseok and I normally met around nine when we wanted to dance. And I sure as hell needed a way to blow off steam today. I sent him a quick text confirming that I was definitely going.

The company would be nice- Hoseok was comforting, but today was one of those days where I wouldn’t mind being alone either.

My eyes felt sore and my head felt so heavy. I realised I was still wearing Jungkook’s clothes, and sprang up, feeling even more disgusted with myself. I decided I would have a shower, get into casual clothes and make my way to the studio.

I also needed to get my spare key off Namjoon. I didn’t need anyone to come to my place uninvited.

I quickly got out of the shower, the image Suzy sent me never leaving my head. I had so many questions. Why did Jungkook do this? Did he hate Yoongi that much? Was it a set up to piss me off? I didn’t know.

I grabbed my gym bag, water, keys and phone and left the house. It was a warm morning, the sun was out, not a cloud in the sky. Made no difference to me, I still felt miserable.

The sun wouldn’t change the fact that I had been fucked over in a big way, thrice, in one week. By three people I genuinely harbored feelings for.

I felt disgusted at myself. Was I really so undeserving of mutual love and respect? What was I to them? I truly didn’t know.

To my surprise, Hoseok was already in the dance room, waiting. “Hey”, he smiled. I gave him a slight nod.

“You already here?” I asked him as he took my bag and out it in his own locker. “Yeah, got your text. I was already up, and Namjoon had to go into university, so he dropped me off on the way.”

I nodded and smiled at him. Hoseok was such a keen dancer. And he was good. His fluid like movements were only something I could dream of doing.

There was clearly an elephant in the room as we danced away, swaying to the beat, letting ourselves go. Forgetting our troubles. It’s why we did it.

“Break!” Hoseok yelled over the beat. He walked over to switch the music off as I doubled over, hands on knees, trying to catch my breath. “Woah, half an hour up already?”, I gasped. He flopped down on the side bench, equally exhausted. “Yup. Time flies, huh?”

I nodded mutely as we both drank our water. I closed my eyes as I felt the cool water travelling down my throat. It bought slight relief.

“Hoseok?”, I asked tentatively. The question was burning at the back of my mind and I needed to know. “Hmm”. he murmured, water in his mouth.

“Where was Jungkook last night?”

There. I said it.

There was silence as I glanced at him- he looked confused. “Thought he was with you?”

I shook my head. He was most definitely not with me. Hoseok shrugged. “ I dunno then, sorry.”

He peered over at me. I had gone stiff and was staring ahead, lost in my depressing thoughts.

“Earth to y/n”, Hoseok sang. I turned my head to give him a small smile. He however, frowned.

“You have that face on.”

Now it was my turn to frown. “What ‘face’?”

“The ‘help-me-i’m-having-an-existential-crisis’ face.”

I rolled my eyes. “What even are you Jung Hoseok? I have no such face!”

He just nodded knowingly. “Tell me what’s on your mind.”

“Oh look! Break’s up!”, I replied, getting up, but Hoseok grabbed my arm and forced me to sit back down.

“Y/n. What is going on? I’m not stupid. You’ve been looking off since you came here.”

I took a deep breath. “I know where Jungkook was last night Hobi.”

He looked even more confused. “You just said he wasn’t with you.”

“No, he wasn’t. He was with...”, I tried again, but couldn’t bring myself to even say it. “With...”.

“Who?”, he gently encouraged.

“Suzy”, I whispered, looking away from him. “She send me a photo of those two naked together.”

“Jesus Christ”, Hoseok muttered in disgust. “That girl is toxic.” I swallowed the lump in my throat and carried on staring at the lights being reflected on the laminated wood.

I looked at the wall mirror in front of us, and I could see Hoseok wanted to say something. I turned back to him. “What is it?”

“I’m just thinking...”,he muttered.

After a pause, he said, “Soon after you left yesterday, she showed up. Jungkook had told her to fuck off, and Yoongi overheard him. Sure enough both started to shout at each other again. Then Yoongi started screaming about how Jungkook should stay away from you because you weren’t ‘his’, and something about how only he could make you feel special.”

Hosoek hesitated. “It got a bit personal when Yoongi said that Jungkook would never be able to make any girl feel as good as he did.”

I stared at Hoseok. “Bloody hell”, I breathed.

He continued. “Actually, come to think of it, I think I know what happened. Jungkook had seemed slightly out of it last night, probably drunk, and he must have gone round to Krystal’s place.”

I nodded. I had guessed that’s where Suzy had moved to.

“And now that you’ve told me about that picture she sent...I think he slept with her to get back at Yoongi.”

I gasped. “That’s so fucked up.” I knew Hoseok was guessing, but there was every possibility he was right. And that to me seemed so unlike Jungkook.

There was another pause as he drank more water.

“Are you er, gonna come round after practice? Jin can pick us up.”

I pondered before nodding slowly. “Yeah I want to get my spare key. Then I’ll go home.”

I didn’t want to stay there longer than necessary. Hoseok nodded understandingly.

The next half an hour seemed to go by quicker than the first. I didn’t want it to end, but what can you do. Hoseok squeezed my shoulder on our way out. “Ayy, you are definitely improving!”, he exclaimed, holding his hand up for a high five.

I smiled weakly and returned the gesture. Jin was waiting outside, right on time, as expected of him.

“Ew”, he commented jokingly when he saw us. “This is why I don’t exercise”, he added, pointedly looking us up and down. I pretended to punch him as Hoseok exaggerated Jin’s movements and said “Yah, I can tell!”

“Hey!” Jin shoved him away. I laughed lightly at the two of them. They were honestly just big kids. If only all seven of them could be like this, I couldn’t help but think.

We clambered in, me at the back, those two at the front. I always called shotgun because I loved to annoy Jin when he was driving, but today for obvious reasons I wasn’t in the mood.

“What’s up? Time of the month?”, Jin joked. I slapped the back of his head, making Hoseok laugh.

“Jin that wasn’t even hard you drama queen.”

“Yes it was!”, he insisted. He then asked, “Shall I drop you off at yours, or you coming in with us?”

“I’m coming in for a coupla minutes. Then I’ll walk it, don’t worry about dropping me off.” Then I added “Thanks.”

Jin didn’t question me, but from the look on his face I knew he’d ask Hoseok later. And from the look on Hoseok’s face, I knew he was getting ready to tell Jin everything.

My legs were sore as I got out the car. “Ow”, I groaned. “Remind me to never miss dance again.”

I could barely walk. “Need a hand?” Hoseok called as he made his way to the door. “Nah i’m cool”, I hobbled behind them.

When we got in, Jimin and Tae were discussing something, but Taehyung stood up when he saw us. He had a smile on his face. I felt like he had just been discussing me, from the wary look on Jimin’s face.

I peered around cautiously, still standing behind Jin and Hoseok, and breathed a sigh of relief. No Jungkook or Yoongi anywhere, thank god.

“Hey y/n”, Jimin spoke quietly, which was unlike him. I waved back, not wanting to speak.

Jimin mouthed to me ‘he’s in the kitchen’.

I didn’t know whether her meant Yoongi or Jungkook, until I realised that only Hoseok knew about what Jungkook had done. So I nodded and signalled ‘ok’.

“How was dance?” Tae asked walking up to me and taking my bag. I let him as I was too tired to protest. Hoseok answered for me. “Great. Y/n’s really good now.” I smiled to him, and nodded to Taehyung, to show him I agreed with Hoseok.

The reason I wasn’t talking was simply because I didn’t want Yoongi to hear me and come in. I think Tae realised this because he pointed to the stairs, asking me silently if I wanted to go up.

I nodded ‘yes’ so I could at least ask him where that god damn key was. He ran up while I took my time, the burn in my thighs almost immobilising me. He waited for me at the top impatiently, tapping his foot, and swinging my back about.

As soon as I had reached the top, he literally dragged me into his room. “C’mon y/n-ah, you’re being so slooow”, he whined.

“My legs hurt Tae”, I simply answered.

We got into his room, which was a tip as always, and he shut the door quietly. I flopped down on his chair- it was usually the bed I lay on, but him and Krystal had made sure I would never do that ever again.

He sat on the bed cross-legged. “You came here to see Jungkook?” he asked curiously. I met his gaze, noted a certain sadness in his eyes. “No Tae, I didn’t come to see him.”

His face broke out into a smile that would put the sun to shame.

“I came here to get my key.” The smile disappeared.

“Your spare key? I think it’s it Jungkook’s room.” I closed my eyes in frustration. I heard Taehyung ask “He’s in there sleeping I think...Why do you want it?”

“So Yoongi and Jungkook can’t get in to my apartment.”

“Yoongi hyung I get...but I thought you and Jungkook were friends?”

I scoffed. “We are anything but. Oh, and you can tell him to find a new ‘study buddy’. Cus I don’t want to see him.”

Taehyung crawled forward and sat on the end of his bed, his feet hanging off. “Y/n”, his deep voice rumbled, “What’s going on?”

“He fucked Suzy!”, I blurted out, instantly covering my mouth. I was always like this with Tae- told him everything. Taehyung’s eyes widened.

“Are you...How do you know?”

“She sent me a nude selfie of the two of them last night.”

He was shaking my head in disbelief. I nodded my head at my gym bag, which had been discarded on the floor. “Phone’s in my bag if you wanna check.”

He didn’t move. I knew he believed me, I wouldn’t lie to him, but he was clearly in shock.

“I...er...isn’t she with Yoongi?” I shrugged because I honestly didn’t know. All I could think about was Hoseok’s theory of Jungkook sleeping with her just to get back at Yoongi.

What was I saying about him being my kind of guy?

Someone knocked on the door. “Taehyung? What are you doing in there?”, a gruff voice asked.

Both our eyes widened at the voice. Jungkook.

“N-nothing! Don’t come in, I’m changing! Tae clambered up off the bed while I stood in a position where if the door opened, Jungkook wouldn’t be able to see me.

Taehyung opened his door a tiny bit. “Did you want something?” He asked.

“Heard you talking to yourself.” I held my breath, not wanting to make a sound.

“I was...singing.” I rolled my eyes. That’s the best he could do?

“Right...”, Jungkook clearly didn’t believe a word.

He must have turned around to walk away because Taehyung called out “Hey Jungkook?” I closed my eyes tight.

He was walking away, what the hell Taehyung.

“Can I have y/n’s spare key? Gonna visit her later.”

“Thought she wasn’t talking to you”, Jungkook sounded annoyed.

“We made up.”

I heard Jungkook sigh. “Yes. It’s in my room. I’ll give it you in a bit.”

“Cheers”, Taehyung muttered before closing the door. I slowly exhaled in relief.

“Are you OK?” He gently asked me. “Uh-huh”, I managed to choke out.

Jeon Jungkook, you are no better than Yoongi.

Taehyung’s POV

Taehyung was definitely shocked and angry. But he didn’t know what to focus on. He was still reeling from the fact that Jungkook had hit Yoongi so hard yesterday (again), that the bruise was still there this morning.

He was shocked that Jungkook had slept with Suzy. Jungkook hated Suzy more than all of them did, so he must have been hell-bent on getting back at Yoongi. And extremely drunk.

He was strangely hurt that y/n looked so bothered by what Jungkook had done. Yes, she hated Suzy for getting in the way of her relationship with Yoongi...but her and Jungkook weren't together were they?

He was rendered speechless by the fact that Krystal had asked to get back with him yesterday. He had said he would think about it, but he knew full well if he said ‘yes’, he would lose y/n for good. And that wasn’t an option.

Krystal was beautiful. And she was smart. But Taehyung knew she was also spiteful, controlling and a downright bitch. She had nothing on y/n. What happened that night was a complete spur of the moment thing.

And it wouldn’t happen again.

He looked at y/n, lost in her thoughts as always. She looked so shaken and melancholy, it angered him. But this ongoing fight between Yoongi hyung and Jungkook wasn’t worth getting involved in- things were already heated enough between them as it was.

All Taehyung had to do was make sure he stayed by y/n’s side through all this. She needed him, no matter how mad he made her.

He sighed as he thought the next few words.

That’s what best friends are for.

Jungkook’s POV

Jungkook walked away from Taehyung’s room, slightly bemused my the elder boy’s actions. He had only gone in to check on him because he thought maybe y/n was in there.

He wanted to see her, to talk to her. She always made him feel calmer.

He walked downstairs to find Hoseok whispering to Jin and Jimin. Namjoon was an University, and obviously Taehyung was upstairs and there was no sign of Yoongi.

Hoseok stopped whispering as soon as he saw Jungkook. “Morning”, he said, looking at him with no expression. “What time did you get in last night?”

“This morning”, Jungkook corrected him. “I think around three.” Hoseok just nodded in response.

Isn’t he going to ask where I was?

Jungkook had gone to the club to get away from Yoongi. After what y/n did a couple of days back, he was kind of hoping to see her there, but no such luck. He had got wasted and decided to head back by foot, knowing Yoongi wouldn’t be awake at this time, so he had avoided an argument.

But he bumped into Suzy of all people. With the alcohol coursing through him, and Yoongi’s words repeating in his head, he had initially turned away in disgust. Her very being made him want to punch a hole in the wall.

But she didn’t give in. She grinded against him, and touched him, and seductively whispered dirty things in his ear. He hadn’t meant for it to happen.

Now, sober, he felt bile rise to his throat at the very thought. His phone was on the coffee table, and he picked it up to unlock it, about to message y/n if he could come over.

He noticed straight away that something wasn’t right. Before he even opened the conversation, he could see the words ‘ image sent’.

He hadn’t set her any image. He pressed the conversation, feeling uneasy. The image that loaded could have made him throw-up. “No”, he whispered in horror.

He looked up directly at Hoseok. “Where is y/n?” He asked, his voice giving away his slight panic.

“How would I know?”, Hoseok answered.

“Hyung I can see you’re in dance clothes. Cut the crap.”

Hoseok stood up sharply taking Jin and Jimin by surprise. “I don’t know”, he said sternly. Jungkook glared at him before making his way to the door. He had lied to Taehyung- the spare key was in his pocket. No way was he going to give it to anyone else.

He stopped dead when he caught sight of y/n’s trainers. She was here. He backtracked and hissed “Liar”, to Hoseok before running up the stairs.

Yoongi’s POV

Yoongi sat in the kitchen, not wanting to see or speak to anyone. Even Jin hadn’t come in here. His jaw ached from his fight with Jungkook.

And has he looked at the image Suzy sent him last night, he felt defeated. Not because he didn’t have her, he didn’t give a shit about her.

But because he had nothing. His friends had got sick of him for having to hide his secret for a month. He had lost y/n, the one he truly loved and cared for.

He was fully aware that she was in the house somewhere, but also that she would be doing her best to avoid him. He sighed.

He couldn’t be bothered to confront Jungkook about the image because he didn’t care. He didn’t care about any of it. He just wanted y/n back, because he missed her.Her laugh, her jokes, her smile.

He tensed as he heard Jungkook calling y/n’s name and running up the stairs. What the hell is his problem? Yoongi thought angrily.

Y/n’s POV

I heard his voice before Taehyung did. I got up quickly, looking desperately at Taehyung.

“Shit, Tae, lock the door!” I hissed, but as usual, the idiot had misplaced his key. “Pabo!”, I groaned.

He looked even more worried than me. Jungkook’s voice sounded furious as he called my name. He must have figured out that I knew. I could hear him coming up the stairs.

“Err, oh shit”, Tae muttered running a hand through his hair.

He grabbed my hands and suddenly ordered, “Kiss me.”

“What?!” I recoiled, trying to pull away. He licked his lips, staring intently at me.

“Y/n he’ll think you’re with me and leave you be!”

“No he fucking won’t idiot! He’ll hit you!” I half-yelled, half-whispered.

“Why the hell would he do that?!”

“Because he told me he likes me!”, I blurted out. Taehyung’s grip loosened, but he didn’t let go.

“Do you like him back?”, he muttered.

I shook my head ‘no’, and his grip tightened again. “Then I can deal with him.

Now hurry up and kiss me.”
