Diamonds are Forever- Part 5: Pretty Boy?

Hello Hello!! I am back with another chapter of Diamonds! This one is a bit more......... well normal for me. I hope you guys enjoy it!

If you haven't read Diamond's are a Girl's Best Friend I suggest you go read that before starting here because you will not understand half of what is going to happen this season. You can find all of those chapters....

SUMMARY: Three years after Nanami left Jin in the night, the boys have become well known and widely loved idols. She goes to every concert and watches every TV appearance, but with Rick on her heels she can never be near him. With another major heist in Korea can she contain the urge to reach out to him while she is back?

Now just to clear this up. The boy's personalities might be a bit different from what they are like in real life, but I do not personally know them and this a FICTION story. Please take this into account as you read. Thank You.

Nanami’s eyes drifted over the distant hues of pink and orange as the sun started to make its decent. The bustling city of Seoul below her was showing signs of shifting to accommodate the night owls, and business men off to have a drink before stumbling home to their wives. It had only been a day since they had been at the basketball courts near Han River, and already Jin and his new ‘secret love’ were the hottest couple scandal since Lee Min Ho and Suzy made an appearance.

The article in her hands showed only a couple pictures. One of a girl kissing Jin, her face hidden by his, and another of a small frame being pressed into Jin’s chest, his jacket thrown over her head. How she had been so oblivious to their presence was what worried her more than the secretive photos. No one would be able to tell who she was, but the fact that she let her guard down so much around him angered her. If anything she should be more alert when she was with him. She couldn’t afford to let the press see her face, not because it would anger a horde of ‘Princess Jin’ fans, but because it could result in sending up a red flag to Rick. Nanami rolled her eyes and sighed. “Might as well send him a text and say, yea hey Rick, I’m here in Seoul, South Korea and I am dating an idol.”

Nanami smirked to herself and shook her head. She needed to come up with a plan to get rid of Rick. It would be hard, and it would put Levi at risk. No, she couldn’t drag Levi into this. She would have to find a way to keep Levi and the boys away until after she had taken Rick out of the picture. Right now wasn’t the time though, first she would focus on supporting Jin and taking care of the Queen of Diamonds. Hey just because she had almost been caught by the paparazzi and she had her Jin back, didn’t mean she was going to up and forget about her poor lonely diamond. The precious stone deserved love, not to be held prisoner behind bulletproof glass.

“I know that look, you are thinking about cheating on me with something small and shiny aren’t you?” Nanami turned and smiled at Jin. His tall frame was slightly hunched over and his hands were shoved into his front pockets.

“Wouldn’t it technically be I am cheating on them with you? They were there first.” Nanami laughed at Jin’s overdramatically hurt expression.

“When your girlfriend admits you are worth less than a rock.” He shook his head and tried to dodge the playful smack Nanami aimed at his chest.

“How dare you call them a rock!” Nanami threw her hands over her chest and let her bottom lip tremble a bit. “You are cruel to my precious babies!”

Jin laughed and wrapped his arms around her as he looked out the window she had just been staring out. They were both silent for a moment just enjoying each other’s presence. “I take it you are not having a mental breakdown over your premature introduction to the world?”

“Premature?” Nanami raised an eyebrow. “Are you implying you plan to strut me around the paparazzi?”

“Well one day they will realize I am no longer single and…” Jin leaned in and whispered lightly into Nanami’s ear. “It’s hard to hide a brides face under a jacket at her own wedding.”

Nanami’s eyes grew round like saucers and she stared at him like a second head had just grown out of his neck. “Wedding? Bride?” Nanami broke out into a fit of giggles and reached up to pat Jin on the head. “Oh you are funny.”

Jin’s lips turned down into a slight frown. “I was being serious.”

“Pretty Boy, you know as well as I do that we can’t do that. We have a few too many obstacles in our way. Plus, you sure you can handle me?” Nanami shot him a seductive look before standing on her tippy toes to bite his neck.

Jin let out a groan and nodded his head. “I know we can’t now, and I know I can handle you.”

There was a knock on the door and they both turned to see Levi and Yoongi staring at them both amused. “Now I was going to say that you should really shut the door before you get all hot and steamy, but I think I am more interested in when the wedding is.” Levi smirked and laughed as Jin’s face turned pink.

“The day after yours and Yoongi’s of course.” Nanami shot back as she moved towards the door. “If we did it before, your wedding might seem a bit…. Boring.”

Levi laughed and glared at Nanami. “Well we might just have to wait and see.”

“You are getting married?” All eyes turned to face the little golden maknae.

“Oh! Kookie!” Nanami moved and wrapped her arm through his as she turned to walk down the stairs. “Just who I was looking for.”

Jin watched with a smile on his face as she laughed off Jungkook’s questions about weddings.

“You should probably stay away from the marriage talk with Nanami unless you want her to run again.” Levi moved to stand right next to Jin. “She is having a hard enough time convincing herself that it’s okay for her to be with you. If you push too hard she might break under the pressure and bolt again.” Levi gave him a sympathetic look. “She wants to be with you, she just won’t be able to rest until she knows you are safe from Rick.” Levi patted Jin on the back and smiled as she laced her fingers with Yoongi’s. “Just give her time Jin, I’m sure she will….”

Levi’s sentence was cut short by the sound of breaking glass and Jungkook calling Nanami’s name. Jin took off at a run down the stairs. His heart beating quickly in his chest at the possibility of Nanami being injured, but when he saw her he stopped in confusion. She stood frozen her eyes facing towards the TV her feet speckled in tiny cuts from the broken vase on the floor around them. Jungkook was trying to pull her out of the broken shards and over to the couch but she seemed unable to tear her eyes way from the news cast.

“That’s right, Jin from BTS was caught on camera out on a date with his new mysterious girlfriend. No one knows the girls exact identity since she appears to not be a celebrity, but people are impressed with the foreigner’s beauty and musical ability. We are now going to play the video that was released only 30 minutes ago showing the new couple having fun at a local arcade.” The announcers disappeared as a shaky phone camera shot took their place. The person holding the camera commented on how much Jin looked like… well Jin, and that though she obviously wasn’t Korean, the girl he was with sang rather well in the native language.

Jin watched in horror as the person filming caught Nanami smiling and dancing completely oblivious to the watching camera. Then the camera panned over to him and he cringed. There was no way anyone would not recognize him in his pink hat and medical mask. Jin sighed and walked over scooping Nanami off of her feet and walking with her into the kitchen. “You really should be more careful.”

Nanami blinked and shook her head as if she was finally coming out of a trance. Jin watched in amazement as her face quickly transformed into one of indifference. She laughed softly and clicked her tongue. “I really have become careless.”

“Huh?” Jin sat her down on the counter.

“I didn’t even notice her filming us.” Nanami smiled but Jin noted how it didn’t really reach her eyes.

“You shouldn’t let it get to you. Everything will be fine.” Jin half smiled as he turned to get a first aid kit and a towel.

“I’m sure you’re right, I am just surprised I didn’t notice them recording.” Nanami shrugged and looked down at her feet. Her once white slippers were dotted with bright red blood and small cuts and scrapes littered the tops of her feet. “Well there goes my foot model career.”

Jin chuckled and shook his head. “You are lucky it wasn’t anything worse.” He gently pulled off each of her slippers and threw them in the trashcan behind him.

Nanami watched as he cleaned and addressed each one of her cuts. She would be lying to herself if she said she didn’t want to smile at the tenderness he used with her, but smiling was not something she could afford right now. She had done it, she had gotten her face plastered in the media and he was right there with her. She knew that even though it wouldn’t be an immediate threat, Rick would see it eventually. Nanami knew he wasn’t in Korea only because she kept tabs on him since she had fallen for the Pretty Boy, so she knew he wouldn’t see it though the news. She also knew he didn’t like technology much, and didn’t watch YouTube so that would buy her time, but he wasn’t the only one there. It was only a matter of time before one of his goons ran across the video.

Nanami sat up on Jin’s bed, her arms crossed over her chest. No matter how much she had protested he had once again gone all over protective and ordered her to stay in bed for the day.

“So let me get this straight, you want to move up the heist an entire month making it only three days from today.” Levi cocked her head to the side looking at Nanami curiously. She knew Nanami was never one to change her plans on impulse.

“So what does your boyfriend think about your change in dates?”

Nanami shook her head. “He doesn’t know anything other than I have been thinking about diamonds. I am sure he knows what I have in mind.”

“Don’t you think we should stop? I mean if you get caught now then people will recognize you and it will come back on Jin.”

There was no way Nanami could deny what Levi was saying. If they were caught then Jin would take the fall, but Nanami did her best thinking when she was on a heist. Right now, what she needed more than the diamond itself, was the time to think about how she would get rid of Rick. The diamond was an excuse, for the first time ever the diamond didn’t matter to Nanami one bit. “That is why we need to do this last one as soon as possible. The longer we wait the more likely we are to be recognized if caught.”

“Last one?” Levi’s jaw dropped and she looked at Nanami like she didn’t recognize the woman in front of her.

“Yup.” Nanami turned and looked out the window.

“You mean we are going to give up being thieves? Are you sure you can do that?” Levi sat on the bed next to Nanami her eyes full of sympathy.

“We don’t really have a choice do we?” Nanami smirked. “We are dating idols. Extremely popular ones at that.” She sighed and bit her lip.

“You are willing to give it up for Jin?”

“My choice has come down to giving up either the diamonds or Pretty Boy, and as crazy as I even sound to myself…” Nanami paused and turned to hide her face from Levi. “I don’t think I could go without Pretty Boy. I will just have to buy diamonds like every other girl out there.”

Levi pounced on Nanami and slapped her hand over the girl’s forehead. “Are you feeling alright?” Levi let a smirk cover her lips. “I never thought I would live to see the day that the great diamond thief Nanami would choose a boy over a diamond! Maybe a gold brick or a ruby, but a diamond!”

Nanami pushed Levi off of her and glared as she fell over laughing. “Hey my diamonds are beautiful and expensive, but…” She smirked, “my Pretty Boy is beautiful, expensive, and knows his way around a first aid kit.” She wiggled her feet causing both girls to laugh.

“Yes because knowing how to do first aid work is very important.” Levi teased.

“Oh I forgot the cuddling. Diamonds don’t cuddle well.” Nanami chuckled.

Levi rolled her eyes. “In all seriousness though, will you be able to give up being a thief? It is all we have ever known.”

Nanami nodded slightly. “I know it will be hard. I think it will be easier for you. We can get you some kind of technical job involving computers.” She paused. “Me? Well I will figure that out later.” Before she even started to think about what she was going to do in the future, she had a fish to fry.

The sound of footsteps filled her ears. “Shit.” She breathed out softly. “Levi looks like this might take longer than I anticipated.” Nanami moved back and felt around behind her for the metal door knob she knew was there. “Where are you?” She whispered before she smirked at the feeling of cold metal against her hand. She swiftly turned the knob and disappeared into the room just as a security guard passed by, his flash light shining through the small window in the door. “A little warning about the whereabouts of the guards might be nice Lev.”

“For some reason I didn’t see him. There are no cameras down that hall.” Levi blew her hair out of her face in annoyance. “If you are going to have cameras at least have them in every hall.”

Nanami chuckled at Levi’s irritated tone. “I changed my mind Levi. You should go into the security business. I think they could learn a thing or two about how to protect precious items from you.”

“Yeah, and you can join the military and become a spy that takes down diamond thieves and drug dealers.”

A laugh sounded through Levi’s ear piece. “Hey, you know what? That actually sounds like a good idea. Well besides the whole joining the military becoming a spy and using my abilities to capture poor souls who are like the me I am now part.”

“Smartass.” Levi laughed and paused to check her cameras. “Looks like he is in the hall south of the control room. You should be able to make an escape now.”

“Got it. See you on the outside.” Nanami made her way out of the door and walked through the art gallery. Paintings, ceramic pieces, sculptures, and random pieces of metal and unidentified things stuck together in what they called ‘art’ littered each room she made her way though. Nanami had never been a fan of art. She didn’t understand why people called some of the heaps of junk around her art. Paintings didn’t bother her one bit because even the ones with the splattered paint looked bright colorful and in some strange way pretty.

She eyed the paintings as she slowly walked by. She chuckled quietly as she realized the artist she was walking through now was perfect for her mood. Each painting she walked by showed a man in impossible situations. One showed a man falling off of a cliff to jagged rocks blow, another was of a man in the tight grip of an angry octopus, while another showed a man being swallowed by a snake. “Oh if only I could do that to Rick.” She sighed.

The pieces started to drift off to other artists who showed peaceful pictures of towns, lakes, animals, and people. Nanami had started to become bored and turned to walk into another room. She needed to stop sightseeing and work on escaping anyway. That is when she saw it. The painting that depicted exactly what she had been hoping to think of while on this heist. There was no doubt in her mind that she would be able to pull off this one, and there was no way Rick would ever walk away from it. A triumphant smirk laced Nanami’s lips. “Perfect.”

The girls walked into the boy’s dorm laughing loudly. Nanami ran up the stairs to Jin’s empty room and tossed her bag on his bed. With a content sigh she turned on her heels and ran down the hall and back down the stairs to go see if Jin was in the living room. Jungkook, Taehyung, and Jimin all sat around playing video games on the TV. Namjoon was lost in a book on one of the couches and Yoongi was half hugging Levi, half still stuck on whatever he was doing on his laptop. Nanami knit her eyebrows together and turned to head for the kitchen. As she rounded the corner she ran face first into someone’s chest. “Pretty Boy I’m ba…..” She looked up and laughed. “Sorry Hoseok I thought you were Pretty Boy.”

Hoseok looked at her confused. “Didn’t he go with you to get the Queen of Diamonds?”

Nanami raised her eyebrow. “Why would I take a popular idol to go steal a diamond in the middle of the night. One look at him and most of your A.R.M.Y fans will recognize him.” She made a face. “I am little, not dumb.”

“We thought it would be strange for you to put him at risk like that.” Nanami turned to be met with a stern faced Namjoon. “But he hasn’t been home since yesterday, so we assumed he was with you.”

Nanami looked back at the other boys who had stopped playing their game and stared at her in confusion. “Where is he then? Have you called him?”

“I called him a million times.” Taehyung piped in.

“No you didn’t, don’t exaggerate.” Yoongi scolded him.

“We called a few times but gave up after we decided he might be with you.” Jungkook added.

Nanami pulled out her cell phone and dialed his number. Where would he have gone? It wasn’t like him to just disappear overnight like this. Well unless he was with her but he hadn’t been. “We are sorry the phone you are trying to….” She sighed and hung up.

“His phone is off.” Nanami walked into the living room and sat on the couch the wheels in her head turning loud enough to keep the others quiet. He hadn’t been at her house when she had left earlier that night to go do the heist, and now that she was thinking about it she hadn’t heard from him all day. Where could he have gone. “Okay. Levi you and Yoongi go check our house and see if he made his way over there.”

“We will go walk around outside and see if he is nearby.” Jungkook added pointing to himself, Taehyung and Jimin.

“I will call his family and keep dialing his cellphone.” Namjoon said.

“And I will go check his favorite restaraunts.” Hoseok said as he ran to grab his jacket.

“Okay. You call me if any of you find him.” Nanami watched as everyone ran off to their respective places.

Nanami walked up the silent staircase and into Jin’s room. If someone goes missing it is always good to start at the last place you saw them right? Nanami opened the door and took in the empty space. His bed was still made and the note she had left him the morning she left still sat on his desk. “Where did you go Pretty Boy?” She mused out loud. With a sigh she turned to walk out of the room when her phone started to ring. Nanami reached into her pocket and pulled the phone out not even bothering to look at the caller. The ringtone wasn’t Jin’s, the boys, or Levi so she deemed it unimportant. “Hello?” She answered slightly irritated.

“Ah, my dear Nanami.” Nanami froze her heart turning to ice. “It has been a long time hasn’t it.”

That voice! There was no way she would ever forget that voice. She swallowed and took a deep breath. Out of all of the people to call her right now it had to be him. She rubbed her sweaty palm on her jeans and let a nervous smirk cross her lips. “Ricky, how unwelcome it is to hear from you again.”

She heard him chuckle on the other side of the phone. “Just as rude and uninviting as always I see.”

“No, only rude and uninviting to you.” She said back calmly.

“After all I have done for you this is how you greet me?”

“Oh you mean the endless days of practice, beatings, and fear? I feel this is a very fitting greeting considering.” Why was he calling her? How had he gotten her number? Did he know she was in Korea? She grimaced. Of course he knew she was in Korea, that is the only way he would be able to get her number. The voice in the back of her head told her to grab Levi and run, but she couldn’t leave until she found Jin.

“Oh you make it sound like I am the bad guy.” Rick’s voice dripped in knowing sarcasm.

“Last time I checked, stalking a girl for years and holding her captive before that doesn’t exactly make you the hero of the story.” Nanami retorted.

“I am not stalking some girl. I am looking to take back what is mine.” The way he said it so simply, like Nanami was just a toy or an object that he had originally owned before it was taken, made shivers run down her spine.

“Look Ricky, I am busy. I have more important things to deal with than you and your possession issues. I am not your toy or your plaything. Now if you will excuse me.” Nanami moved to pull the phone from her ear.

“Oh you mean that news story about you and your idol boyfriend?” Nanami’s heart jumped in her chest. “He really is a cutie I suppose. Not rough and manly but in a girly way.”

Nanami’s breathing became uneven. He knew about Jin. She needed to find him and fast. If Rick got to him before she did, then……

“Nanami!” Her heart sank and the blood in her veins turned to ice. “Nanami don’t….” She heard the sound of a fist hitting flesh and she cringed.

“Oh dear me. I forgot to tell you about my guest.” She could hear the smile in his words. Rick was enjoying this.

“No….” The word left her lips as a whisper. She was somewhere in-between shock, horror, and a point of panic.

“Nanami” She heard her name being called again, this time more pathetically. “You can’t….” The sound of his words being cut off by another fist almost sent her falling to her knees.

Omo! Poor Jin! Well I can guess Nanami feels pretty lousy.

As always thank you for taking the time to read my stories. I hope you enjoyed it.
