Japan's zany inventions tend to dance on that fine line between fashion and function, but could this one actually be useful?
The 'Under the Armpit Cooling Device' clips onto the underside of your short sleeves to send cooling blasts of air right where you need it most - your pits. Japan, like many a temperate location, experiences incredibly humid summers, and let's just say that a summer in the sun might make your stankiest places that much stankier.
For $24 each (or $48 on a pair), the device is a small investment with major payoff. Basically, you load it up with three AA batteries or, if you're staying sedentary for a while, you can hook them up to a laptop or portable battery pack with its USB outlet feature.
Thanko, the company behind the product, insists the device is perfectly safe, and the internal fan - with three different speed options - is effective enough to keep you dry and quiet enough to wear discreetly in public.
With that being said, it's time to confess: Which one of you would actually consider trying these out for yourself?
