This is my first contest entry to the Holiday FanFic Event that's going on. This story uses the members of Day6 in it since I felt that Day6 didn't get a lot of love in the last contest, so my first fanfic is dedicated to them!!
I hope you all enjoy reading this fanfic as much as I enjoyed writing it, and if you aren't familiar with Day6 then please check out their music!! They currently have two music videos: Congratulations and Letting Go.
I'm sorry that the story is so long. I worked really hard to make sure it wouldn't be too long, and I ended up failing at that Dx I hope you all still enjoy the story and hopefully the next fanfic that I write won't be as long.
Hope you all enjoy this fluffy holiday themed fanfiction with Day6~ ^-^
I was sitting at my desk, decorating a small Christmas tree and hanging small, red ribbons on my computer, when one of my co-workers, dressed up as Santa Claus, walked into the office carrying a heavy, brown sack of gifts.
“Ho ho ho,” the wannabe Santa said, in his deepest voice. “Today is the day you’ve all been waiting for. It’s time to give out the gifts for Secret Santa!” he announced, a bit dramatically while everyone clapped. Some of the guys even whistled.
The guy dressed as Santa started to walk around to each of my other co-workers and would fish into his bag to find their presents. I sighed and sat back into my desk. I probably was the only one not looking forward to Secret Santa, especially for the person who I was Secret Santa for: my coworker Nari. I barely knew the chick and they expected me to get her a nice gift! Give me a break. So all I got her was some cheap perfume and chocolates. Hey, at least the perfume smelled decent enough.
Jihye, the girl who sat in the cubicle next to me, was handed her present and she immediately ripped the wrapping paper away to get at the gift. I watched as her smile faded into a scowl as she disappointingly pulled out a pair of reindeer socks. She started to throw a fit and complain to our co-workers about people not trying hard enough, especially gifts for her. God, what a stuck up bi-.
Before I could finish my thought, the Santa look alike had walked up to me and began looking through his bag for my present. He pulled out a small silver box wrapped with a lavender colored bow and handed it to me. Before walking away, he winked at me causing my face to blush. I hurriedly looked away from him and sat down at my desk while he turned around and walked away from me.
“Open it,” said Jihye, who was hovering over me and staring hungrily at my present. Instead of snapping at her, I rolled my eyes and undid the little bow and opened the box, taking my sweet time.
I gasped as I lifted the lid and stared at the beautiful necklace that lay comfortably in the small container, even Jihye shut her mouth. The necklace was made with a silver chain and had a small silver pendant hanging off it with a gorgeous amethyst resting in the middle. I looked back at the box and saw a note lying inside that had been hidden underneath the necklace. I set the necklace down on my desk and pulled out the note and unfolded it.
In a very beautiful cursive, the words, “Will you be mine?” had been written on the paper. I felt the heat rise in my face as I tried to contain my emotions. I turned the paper over and there were more words written on the back. The name of a park, which I was familiar with, along with a specific time had been written on the back.
“Ooo who could it be?” giggled Jihye, with an annoying high pitch squeal. “Hey, you don’t think it’s one of….” she tilted her head in the direction of a group of four guys, the same guys that the guy dressed up as Santa walked over to. I watched as the guy took off his fake beard and hat, revealing who was hiding under the disguise: Sungjin. The four other guys were Jae, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon. The five of them making up the hottest guys in the whole building, and every person here could agree.
I stared at Sungjin, his eyes lighting up with laughter and his smile forming the cutest smile ever, as his friends pushed and teased him. Before I could look away, he turned his head in my direction and our eyes locked together. Actually, all of their heads turned to look at me, everyone, single one of them smiling at me with those attractive faces. I felt my face turn an even brighter shade of red as I quickly looked away from them and frantically stared at my hands that laid in my lap.
No. She had to be wrong. It wouldn’t be one of them. No, it couldn’t be. Not me. Someone like any of them couldn’t want someone like me. Stuff like that only happened in stories. No, it had to be someone else. Anyone else. But what if it was one of them?
I didn’t think I would do it, but the next day I had gone to the park that the note had mentioned, five minutes earlier than what had been written. I spent a couple of minutes walking around. The park was definitely pretty and many couples and families were walking around, laughing and talking. But it was also freezing! I shivered under my coat and hugged myself with my arms, trying to keep the heat from leaving my body. Eventually I got tired of just walking and ended up sitting on one of the benches.
I sat there for awhile, rubbing my arms and getting distracted by a bird that had landed near me and was looking for leftover crumbs. I barely noticed the two guys who had walked up beside me until one of them said something, causing my to jump.
“Hey you,” Young K said, my eyes widening as I noticed who the two of them were.
“Hey there, isn’t it kind of chilly to be walking around in the park? Especially by yourself,” smirked Jae. My face burned, and not just from the cold.
“Ya, you should walk with us for a bit. We’ll keep you warm,” smiled Young K, his eye smile already warming me up.
“Oh, um sure. That would be great, actually!” I stuttered, standing up so fast that stars appeared in my vision.
The three of us walked through the park for a good couple of minutes. Young K would tell me stories and Jae would keep making jokes, both made me laugh and smile. Eventually, we stopped in front of a bench and the two of them smirked at each other.
“Well, here’s a good place to stop and rest,” said Jae, indicating towards the bench in front of us. “So you stay here and rest for awhile and we’ll be on our way.”
“Yes, sorry we’re already leaving. It was nice talking with you,” Young K said, gently pushing me to sit down. “I hope we get the chance to do this again.”
I sat down, bewildered by their reactions, and when I finally realized what was going on the two of them were already long gone. I let out a frustrated groan and leaned back against the frozen bench, but I barely felt the cold. My heart was racing too fast from what I had just experienced with Jae and Young K.
Before long, I stood up and was about to head back home when I saw something stuck to the bottom of the bench. Curious, I crouched down and saw a piece of paper taped to the bottom. I grabbed it and opened it, a small gasp escaping my lips as I read, “Well, it seems you want me too. Or you at least are curious to find out who I am. I hope I’m more right about the first one.” I turned the note over and on the back it had the name of a restaurant written on it along with “Come now if you’re not busy.”
I then noticed another silver box, identical to the one my secret Santa gave me except that it was much bigger, sitting underneath the bench. I opened it and a pair of silver high heel shoes were lying inside. Without a second though, I put the shoes back into their box and began running through the park, clutching the box close to my chest. Then I hopped into the first available taxi that I saw and drove down the street away from the park.
Not too long later, I walked into the restaurant that the note had lead me to. It was more of a small cafe than a restaurant, but the smell of delicious food succumbed me as I opened the doors. I sat down in a small booth next to the window and a waitress came over to me. Some time later, the waitress came back with a plate of 야채튀김 aka yache twigim translated to fried vegetables.
I grabbed my chopsticks and put some of the yache twigim in my mouth when three men walked into the restaurant. I started choking on my food as the three men turned in my direction and I saw who they were. I took a swig of water that helped the food run down my throat as the three men walked over to me.
“Hey, didn’t see you there,” Wonpil said cheerfully, casually placing his hand on my shoulder causing my cheeks to blush like crazy.
“Oh wow, that yache twigim looks so good! You wouldn’t mind if I tried some, would you?” asked Sungjin, grabbing the chopsticks from my hands and grabbing one of the fried carrots and dropping it into his mouth. “Wow, delicious!”
“Hey, do you mind if we sit with you?” Dowoon asked politely, smiling shyly at me.
“No, not all! Go right ahead,” I said, the words spilling out of my mouth before I could stop them. The three of them happily sat down beside me and immediately started joking around and starting conversations with me. When the waitress came back Sungjin ordered his own yache twigim, while Wonpil ordered 비빔밥 aka bibimbap or “mixed rice” in English, and Dowoon ordered 잡채 aka japchae or, literally meaning, “a mixture of vegetables.”
I spent the rest of my meal with them, smiling and having fun the whole time, even blushing every now and then, especially when Dowoon started playing with my hair and Wonpil kept poking him, trying to get him to stop. Sungjin, at one point, even tried to feed me some of his yache twigim which caused the other two to try to feed me their food. I even said something really funny which caused Wonpil to laugh so hard that water shot out of his nose, causing all of us to burst out laughing.
After we all had finished eating, the three of them all stopped laughing and smiled at each other.
“Well, we’ve got to go,” Wonpil said nervously, already standing up.
“Ya, it was awesome hanging out with you, but we’ve got to head out now,” said Dowoon, who was smiling, but avoiding eye contact with me.
Sungjin pretended to glance at his watch before he shot up out of his chair and exclaimed, “Oh wow, look at the time! We better get going. See ya later!”
The three of them attempted to walk out cooly, but the smiles plastered on their faces gave them away as they rushed out of there. I sat there, dumbfounded. They did exactly the same thing Jae and Young K did. But why?
Just as I was about to stand up and leave, the waitress walked back over to me and said that she was suppose to give me something. She handed me a silver box that was even larger than the shoebox, but looked identical to the ones the shoes and necklace were in. I thanked her and took the box from her before opening it up. Inside was a beautiful long-sleeved, purple dress that was long enough that the bottom would reach my ankles. The waitress and I stared at the dress in awe, and she even said that I had a lucky man in my life before walking away.
There was another note card in the box and I quickly uncrumpled it to read the words, “I wonder if you figured out who I am yet. I can’t wait to see you again. You’re getting close, I hope you feel the same way about me as I do about you.” I turned it over and the words of a museum were written on the back, along with, “Please wear the gifts that I gave you so that I may see them on you.” I jumped out my seat and stuffed the dress back into the box before rushing out the restaurant. I hope I find out who my secret Santa is. The suspense is killing me!
Before I knew it, I was standing in front of a grand museum wearing a beautiful silver necklace with an amethyst pendant, gorgeous silver high heel shoes, and a breathtaking purple winter dress. The gifts that my secret Santa had gotten me. I took a deep breath and went inside.
Mysterious and interesting paintings and statues caught my attention as I stepped through the doors, but they didn’t hold my gaze for too long since my eyes had caught the sight of Dowoon who was staring, mystified, at a beautiful painting of angels. I went to stand by him and, without looking at me, he said, “So you made it, that’s good.”
He glanced down at me and I looked up at him, my heart racing as he smiled at me. “But,” he began saying, turning his head back to the painting, “Have you figured out who your secret Santa is? Who knows, maybe it’s me.” Before I could respond, he stretched his arms out and put his right arm over my shoulders and pulled me into him so that I was up against his body. My heart raced even faster and my face immediately heated up.
He held me like that for what felt like forever, but was only mere seconds, until he let me go and turned to face me, “Good luck figuring it out,” he said, giving me his adorable eye smile before turning around and walking away from me.
Once he had disappeared somewhere, I started walking around some more until I found Jae who was walking in between people as he gazed at the different paintings and artworks. I walked over to me and he gave me a wide smile before giving me a big hug. I was about to pull away when his grip on me got stronger and he held me closer.
“Would you be happy if I was your secret Santa? If I was the one who bought all of those beautiful gifts for you?” he whispered. “Or would you prefer if it was one of the others?”
He pulled away from me and winked at me. He pushed his glasses back up and then turned around and disappeared among the crowd.
I pushed through the crowds, trying to follow Jae but instead I ran into Sungjin. And I mean literally ran right into him. I apologized quickly and bowed my head, my heart racing even faster at my embarrassment. Sungjin laughed and started to play with my hair, letting his fingers slip and slide through the strands. “You know,” he began saying, staring longingly at the strand wrapped around his finger. “This whole game that we’ve been playing is getting a bit boring now, don’t you think? Maybe I should just confess right here and right now.”
My heart skipped a beat as his words left his lips and his eyes turned to stare directly into mine. “But maybe I’m not the one who needs to confess,” he said, laughing and letting go of my hair. He turned around and all that was left of him was his laugh that had begun to fade away, along with him.
Before I could follow him into the crowd, I felt a strong hand grab me around my wrist and pull me toward them. I spun around and saw that the owner of the hand belonged to Young K. He smiled at me as he brought my hand up to his lips and gave the back of my hand a quick peck with his lips, causing electricity to shoot throughout my body.
“Hello beautiful, I’m glad you made it,” he said, slowly moving my hands into both of his and sliding his fingers through mine. “Whoever your secret Santa is, is truly a lucky guy.” He gave my hands one more quick kiss before he let them fall back to my sides, and hurriedly walked away.
I walked into another room that was filled with beautiful, white statues. I glanced around the room, looking for a familiar face when Wonpil’s voice called out my name and he ran over to me, a huge smile plastered on his face. Before I could completely turn around to face him, he grabbed me around the waist and gave me a backhug, my back against his chest and his arms hugging my waist. He leaned his head on my shoulder and swayed me back and forth.
“See, this is how I would hug you everyday if it turned out I was your secret Santa,” he hummed happily. “But maybe I’m not your secret Santa and we might just end up being friends. I would be fine with that too.” He gave me one last squeeze before letting me go. He then gave me an air kiss before he disappearing somewhere in the huge museum.
I walked for a good solid 5 minutes, but I could not find any of them again. I walked through almost everywhere and I was just about to give up and go outside when I walked into an empty hallway that only had one or two pictures hanging off the walls. I then noticed a door at the end of the hall that slowly began to open. I hesitantly walked over to it, but as soon as I was about to look inside, a hand reached out and pulled me in then slammed the door shut behind me. The room was completely dark so that I couldn’t see the figure that held me, and the only sound that could be heard was our breaths.
“Who are you?” I asked, but the figure said nothing. All of a sudden, the person pulls me into them and pressed our lips together in a kiss that made my head dizzy. He pulled back and brushed my cheek with the back of his hand. I felt him slide his other hand into my hand and then slowly slid it back, leaving a small crumpled piece of paper behind. He then opened the door and zoomed out of there. I ran out of the room to see who he was, but the figure had already disappeared.
I quickly uncrumpled the piece of paper and it read, “It’s time to find out who I am. I left you a big hint from the beginning. So how well do you know me?”
I grabbed the sides of my dress and began to run through the museum. I pushed through the front doors. The sky had turned dark and snow had begun to fall so that the ground was covered in a light sheet of white. The street lights had turned on and christmas lights decorated the surrounding buildings and trees. I slowly began to go down the stairs of the museum because at the bottom was Sungjin, Jae, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon. They were standing side by side in a line so that they were all facing me, smiling as brightly as any light.
I made it to the bottom of the stairs and I went to stand in front of Sungjin, the first in line on the left side. One by one I went to stand in front of each of them, looking for the one who was my secret Santa: Sungjin’s dark skin and slightly big nose made him stand out to the others, and his smile made his face look very kind. Jae had an adorable baby face that was even more enhanced by his round glasses and fluffy hair. Young K had small eyes that seemed to completely close when he smile. But he also had a jawline that could cut paper. Wonpil looked like Jonghyun of SHINee with his face shape and the way he smiled. Even his voice was higher pitched than the others, just like Jonghyun’s. Dowoon probably had the lightest skin compared to the others, and his eyes were catlike that seemed to hide some sort of secret behind them. All of them were attractive in their own ways, all of them were special in their own ways. But one of them stood out the most to me.
I took a step back and gave them a deep bow and said, “Thank you all so much for today. The gifts are amazing, but the gift of your friendship was probably the best gift. So thank you all so much.”
I then went to stand in front of Young K, and without looking at him, I gave him the first note that had been given to me by my secret Santa and I mumbled, staring at my feet, “Your favorite color is purple, isn’t it?”
He started to laugh and lightly grabbed my chin and gently pushed my face up so that I was looking at his beautiful dark eyes. His smile made my heart race even faster as he pulled my face closer to his and pressed our lips together. The same lips that had kissed me in the museum. He pulled back and said, “Yes, I love purple. But I love it even more on you.”
He lightly traced my cheek with his thumb as he said, “So, will you be mine?” Instead of answering, my whole body welled up in happiness and I leaned forward and gave him a big kiss. He kissed me back and then pulled my entire body into him, deepening our kiss. Sungjin, Jae, Wonpil, and Dowoon began to cheer as snow fell around us, making the night even more perfect.
So, did you know who her secret Santa was or were you surprised? Most of you probably weren't surprised since I did accidentally put Young K as the cover photo of the story, but either you guys didn't notice that or maybe you thought that I was tricking you~
Either way, I hope you all enjoyed the story and are now encouraged to check out Day6!
I'm looking forward to writing more fanfictions for this event and I'm excited to read the other entries.
Happy holidays everyone~^^
