"Where are you going," he shouted as I got into my car and drove away. I could not deal with him anymore, I had to get away. I could not stand his cheating and lying anymore. I did not know where I would go, but I packed my bags and started driving. It was spring already and the air was crisp and the flowers were starting to bloom. It was time for a change.
(Several hours later)......
I wonder what king of place this was. It seemed like there was not a lot of people around here. I see a bar up ahead. I had not stopped for awhile and this seemed like a great place for me tot stop and take a break. I park the car and walk in. The atmosphere was different here, it seemed relaxed. I grab a table and the waitress comes and ask what wuld like to eat and drink. I placed my order, and the lights went dim and a spot light came on the stage. That is when I saw him. He was tall, with fair skin, and muscular. I started thinking to myself, what am I doing. I just let a man, and now I was falling for another one. I need to get a hold of myself. He started to play the guitar and sing. He had such a soft, strong voice, that could melt your heart. I was falling for him, but I knew I needed time. I needed time to get myslef together. I listened and the more he played and sing, the more I fell.
My meal and drink had arrived and I ate quickly. I need to get out of this place, before I keep falling for him more. I finished my meal and left the money on the table and went out the door. I got to my car and it would not start. Come on I said, please start. But the car would not listen and I was stuck. It started raining. I ran back inside. I asked if there was a mechanic around since my car would not start. The bartender pointed on the stage. I could not believe it, that this guy was also the mechanic. I asked the bartender, if there was another one and he said no, he is it. I shook my head, I just could not believe my luck.
He finished playing and the bartender yelled, "Yonghwa, this nice lady needs a mechanic."
He got off stage and walk towards me. As he was getting closer, my heart strated beating faster. Stop it I say to myself, this is how you got in trouble last time, and how you ended up here. He was right in front of me now, "How may I help you," he asked? I could not answer all I could do was stare. He asked again, "How may I help you?"
"Oh, I am sorry. My car does not want to start."
"I can look at in the morning, since it is raining now. I can have then tow it to the shop in the morning. Do you have a place to stay the night?"
"No," I answered. "I just got into town."
"You can stay here. There is an extra room upstair. It will cost you though."
" That is fine. How much for the room?" I asked. I had him the cost of the room and I get my bags out of my car and walk upstairs to my room. I take a shower and lay down, I was beat. I fell asleep.
The next morning, I hear a knock on the door. Who would be knocking so early in the morning. I go to answer the door. It was Yonghwa. "I came to get the keys to take a look at your car." I got my keys and handed them to him. He walked back downstairs. I got dressed and ran out the door after him.
It was still raining. I got to my car and he already had the hood up. "You need a belt. I can order it but it will take a day to get here. You can stay here until tomorrow. "
"Thank you." I replied.
"Come in out of the rain and have some breakfast." I walk with him inside, but my heart was beating rapidly. No matter how much I tell it to stop, it keeps going. It's like it has a mind of it's own. I sit at the table and he hands me a plate of food and coffee. " Thank you" I replied. He walks away to the back. I am there on my own to eat. I finish my breakfast and coffee and I walk around the bar. I walk towards the stage. I stop and think of him playing the night before, my heart starts beating fast again.
I see him coming to the stage, with his guitar in had. "Will you listen and tell me what you think?" he asked me. I just nodded yes. I listen to him play and sing. I could not move I was hypnotized my his singing and playing. I need to walk away, but my feet just would not move. I listened till he was done and still could not move. "What do you think?" he asked. All I could do was smile.
(Later that evening)......
It was still raining, but the smell of the rain was so nice. I was sitting outside, smelling the rain and holding my hand out in the rain. I was on the side of the bar, to be by myself, since there were people coming in and out of the bar. I knew when Yonghwa was on the stage playing the crowd would go wild. I just listen to him as I sit on the step. The playing of his music and the rain, made me feel relaxed and all my trouble seem to disappear.
(The next day).....
I walked downstairs to see if Yonghwa was working on my car. My car was still in the same spot. i walked into the bar. I asked the man who was stocking if he had seen Yonghwa. He pointed to the back. I walk towards the back and I see Yonghwa. He seemed to be on the phone with someone, so I walk to the kitchen to get breakfast. I get my breakfast and sit at the table to eat. After eating, I pick up my plate to take it back to the kitchen, when Yonghwa walks up to me. "The part for your car will take a couple of more days before it gets here. The rain has made it immpossible for them to get here. I hope you dont mind staying here for a few more days."
"I don't mind." I replied. He said okay and walked away. I took my plate to the kitchen and head back to my room.
I hear a knock on my door. I open it and it is Yonghwa. "Come in I replied. You are getting wet from the rain." He comes into the room. "So does it rain like this here a lot," I ask.
"Yes it does during the spring," he replied. "Sorry about having to stay longer because of the part for your car. I hope you are comfotable."
"I am fine and thank you. You have made it comfortable for me."
I offered him a seat. I ask if he would like something to drink. He nodded no.
"I have something I want to say to you." Yonghwa said.
"Okay," I replied. I sit on the edge of the bed.
" I liked you the moment I saw you walk into the bar the first night. I was glad that there was a reason for you to stay. I watch as you were walking out the door, but I could not stop you. I heard the rain and hoped somehow it would stop you and it did." I could not believe what I was hearing. I felt the same way when I first saw him, but I was feeling my fresh wounds that have not heal haunting me. I need to get out. I got up without saying a word and ran out the door into the rain. Yonghwa followed me. "Stop," I could hear him say,"Where are you going?"
I fell to the ground. I could feel the rain pounding on my skin. I wanted to love again, but was this to soon. Would Yonghwa want someone like me who was broken. I started crying. He fell to the ground next to me. He lifted my head. "Why are you crying" he asked me.
"I am broken," I replied." You will not want me. I have been hurt so many times and I am scared that if I open my heart again I will be hurt again."
"I will not hurt you," he replied. "You can't run away, just because you are scared. I know you like me as much as I like you. I see it in your eyes. So give it a try. You will never know unless you try." He lifted me up off the ground and pulled me into his arms and held me in the rain. I let myself go and excepted him. I let my heart win. I was grateful for that sping rain, that kept me there with him.
