What defines K-pop? #1: Diversified audiovisual musical content

Although K-pop generally refers to South Korean popular music, there are many who consider the term is really just a name for a variety of musical talents that go all across the musical spectrum. The national French audiovisual institution, Institut national de l'audiovisuel, defines K-pop as "a fusion of synthesized music, sharp dance routines and fashionable, colorful outfits combining bubblegum pop with the musical elements of electro, disco, rock, R&B, and hip-pop." So what really does define K-pop? If we think about it, K-pop, at least for people from my area, means any music that comes from South Korea. But if we think about it, is that fair? K-pop then are the songs Girls' Generation's "I Got a Boy," Secret's "Starlight Moonlight," Big Bang's "Fantastic Baby," CN Blue's "I'm A Loner," Akdong Musician's "매력있어," all the same genre? I do not know about everyone else, but to me they encompass so many different musical styles and I did not even show all the different styles! What do you think about this?
