"You're kidding me." You watched in disbelief as all the flights rolled to red. Cancelled.
"Sixteen hours of flight time, and we end up stuck on Christmas Eve, two states away from home. This is just wonderful." Just another thing to add to the list of things gone wrong today.
If it wasn't flights getting delayed, they were getting cancelled. Bags got lost on the first half of the trip. A fan nearly caught us. If it could go wrong, it did.
"It'll be okay babe. Deep breathes." You smiled at him, his arms wrapping around your waist. It'd be okay, at least you had him.
"I know, Jackson, it's just not how I planned this going. So much for sneaking you away for just a day or two to meet everyone." The two of you would get the scolding of a century when you returned but it was worth it.
"We can make the best of it. There isn't a lot but maybe we can find a cafe?"
There really wasn't much to this airport. The plane had made an emergency landing because of the snow and it seemed like hardly anyone was even here.

You slept on hard benches that night, cuddled close and using what extra jackets you had. The airport had provided blankets but run out long before the two of you were able to snag any. Though there were less than three hundred people, there were just to many stranded on Christmas Eve and they weren't prepared.
You minded, but hardly, it was something new. It was the first time you'd been really in public with each other without managers or friends surrounding the both of you. For once, you were just a couple in public without repercussions.
"Can you sleep?"
"No, not really, there's to many people." Jackson shifted next to you, "and these seats are terrible. Wanna try to find somewhere else?"
The two of you drifted through the small airport in search of somewhere quiet. Lights outside showed the snow, it was falling heavy.
"We should go public when we get back."
Was he serious?
"Or now? Which would you rather?"
