Who among the Two Writers Deserves a Literary Award?
If I were to bestow a literary award on either author, I would choose Junot Diaz for a number of reasons. First of all, he looks at life from a positive angle. He allows the reader to experience a happy ending without following the expected paths in the story. Diaz’s inspirations are realistic and motivate the reader significantly by depicting his personal experiences and childhood challenges. Looking at the two authors’ personal achievements, Flannery O’Connor’s life may have been cut short when she passed away in 1964 thus limiting her contribution to society other than through her impeccable literary works.
