La Perla's Mannequin Too Skinny

La Perla, an Italian clothing company specializing in lingerie, has acted quickly to the complaints over their mannequin display. The mannequin baring ribs, was spotted in La Perla's New York SoHo store and quickly became the subject of public scrutiny. La Perla’s response came within a couple hours of the initial complaint "The mannequin photographed has been removed from the store and will not be used again by any La Perla boutique," the label responded to a customer and to Seth Matlins, a Truth In Advertising advocate, who both tweeted their disdain for its appearance. "We are in the process of redesigning all La Perla stores with a new concept image and the mannequins that are currently displayed in our US stores will no longer be used. We appreciate and value everyone's comments, thank you for bringing this to our attention.” After reading this article, I searched ad campaigns from La Perla. Their models are as skinny if not skinnier than the mannequin display. I know that taking these emaciated mannequins out from window displays is helpful, but I don't think it solves the root of the problem.
