Jeans were invented by Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss in 1873. It was named Jeans as in Genoa Italy “Cotton corduroy” was called Jean or Jeane. It was 1851 when Levi Strauss came to New York to meet Jacob Davis. Jacob Davis had a business of making tents, horse blankets, and wagon covers. One of his customers ordered him to make long-lasting pants that could be worn during hard work.
Davis prepared the pant from the denim cloth, which he bought from Levi Strauss. This denim cloth pant became famous after that, then both of them started a factory to make jeans on a commercial basis. They patented the brand as Levi Strauss. This is how Jeans had started and now everybody wants to wear them.
