Roger Poulin has been hoping to hike the entirity of the Appalachia Trail for the past four years, and a few days ago, he finally completed his goal! He became the first blind and deaf man to hike the entirety of the trail earlier this week. Roger hikes with a guide, and sometimes a whole team, and he finally completed his journey. Roger says: “I planned to go through the whole thing in six months,” he said. “But once I started hiking, I realized how difficult it was for me. My pace was much slower than other hikers… I was falling all over the place.” It ended up taking him a total of 4 years to complete, but he did it! Such an amazing hiking story.
