Things to Do in Sydney: Student Guide

student accommodation Sydney

The Opera House

This is arguably the most known, iconic tourist attraction in Australia, and boy is it a gorgeous masterpiece! The Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts centre with a beautiful, modern and distinctive architecture that looks particularly stunning at night. The performances are a one of a kind experience that every student should check out at least once. It is pricey, but we guarantee it will be worth it! And, if you don’t want to shell out the money, you can just roam about the locality, as the vibes are great and enjoying the marvellous building from the Broadwalk outside is free.

Harbour Bridge

Speaking of roaming around the locality, the Harbour Bridge is practically only a hop and skip from Sydney’s Opera House and is a chill, low-key spot where you can soak in the city vibes. You can see the beautiful Sydney skyline and the harbour from the bridge and watch the city twinkle at night. The place begs for a good, long, stroll and if you have a couple of friends with you, then even better for a fun evening hangout!

Bondi-Coogee Trek

The Bondi to Coogee trek is one of Sydney's most popular coastal walks and is a sight for sore eyes. The sceneries on this oceanfront walk are breathtaking and will take you across pristine beaches, cliffs, lovely parks, rock pools, viewpoints and delicious stop-off cafes. The trek is an exhilarating experience and is perfect for students looking for a break from their hectic and stressful academic life.

Put on your Tourist Hat

As we mentioned earlier, Sydney has a ton of places worth visiting and sightseeing, and the best way to go about this is by taking out a day to go on a tourist tour of the city. It is the perfect way to get to know the ins and outs of the city whilst having an awesome time! You can find itineraries online or book a guided tour to learn and immerse in the Australian culture, explore the hidden gems and visit the top attractions.

Vibrant Festivals

The city hosts some poppin’ festivals and humongous events every year. It is an exciting time for those in the city, and is loads of fun! It is loud, vibrant, buzzing with people and pulsating with energy. If this sounds tempting to you, then you will LOVE the Sydney Festival, Mardi Gras and much more. Not to mention, going to festivals and concerts are quintessential parts of the university experience.
