Jerry Brown, governor of California, stated that he will approved the recently passed bill banning single-use plastic bags. This would make California the first US state to outlaw their use. Lawmakers passed the bill late last Friday, and it now only requires Governor Brown's signature to pass into law. The Governor has a deadline of the end of September to sign. "I probably will sign it, yes," Democratic veteran Brown said late Thursday during a televised debate with his Republican election rival Neel Kashkari, who is trailing badly in opinion polls."
