Here's a look at the stories making the big splash this Wednesday in the world of football: 1. Chelsea are reported to be ready to splash the cash on Gareth Bale, currently of Real Madrid, this summer in order to pry him away from a potential move to Old Trafford. (Source: http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/534626/Gareth-Bale-Chelsea-Man-Utd-Real-Madrid) 2. Arsenal are set to make a £30 million move to buy Barcelona defender Dani Alves and forward Pedro. Manchester United are interested in Yohan Cabaye from PSG after reports stated he is not happy at the French giants. West Brom have opened talks with Berahino over extending his contract past 2017. (Source: http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/533855/West-Brom-Saido-Berahino-Man-Utd-Liverpool-Tottenham) 5. Southampton have yet to make a defensive errors this season while statistics revealed today that Lovren, who the Saints sold this off season, has made the most. (Source: http://metro.co.uk/2014/11/10/statistics-show-that-liverpools-dejan-lovren-is-the-most-error-prone-defender-in-the-premier-league-4943247/) My Thoughts: 1. Obviously Chelsea will do anything to take a top 10 world class player away from their long time rivals. 2. They don't need Pedro, but Arsenal are notorious for buying attacking players. Dani Alves is a must if they are to improve. 3. Cabaye was at Newcastle just over a half a season ago. He's easily good enough to return to the Premier League so I can see this move happening in the winter. 4. Obviously the Baggies want to keep him since he's so young and extending the contract will only help up his price should other, bigger clubs come calling. 5. We could even point out how Lallana hasn't scored and Jay Rodriguez not being what he was billed to be. Southampton look much better off.
