The international break means it's time once again for the US to embark on some friendlies with other nations to test their might, this time against South American rivals Colombia. These two have some history, particularly from the 1994 World Cup in the US where the US beat Colombia with the help of an infamous own goal from Andres Escobar (one that was mentioned and helped lead to his own, tragic shooting in his native Colombia). For 2014, we look at a US squad experimenting to find a few more break out players. Bill Hamid is available in goal for the US. Lee Nguyen from the Revs is also available and Dempsey is not selected. Colombia will have a host of players with European experience available for selection including Real Madrid's James Rodriguez, who won the Golden Boot at the World Cup this past summer. The US will need to play counter-attacking football to come away with anything and show a more defensive discipline from their friendlies in October where they led both Honduras & Ecuador only to concede the tying goal late. The 2nd part of the Jurgen Klinsmann begins.
