Here's the big stories from this Monday in the world of football: 1. Manchester United are unsure about exercising the buy option for striker Falcao while Robin van Persie could well leave the club this summer. (Source, IN FRENCH: http://sport24.lefigaro.fr/football/transferts/actualites/van-persie-et-falcao-pousses-dehors-723624) 2. Everton boss Robert Martinez looks to want to sign Shaun Maloney from Wigan, whom he managed during his time there. (Source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2846417/Everton-eye-Shaun-Maloney-Roberto-Martinez-looks-strengthen.html#ixzz3JvqmwVI6) 3. Mario Balotelli has rated himself a 7 out of 10 despite no scoring because he is running more than when he did at Manchester City. Steve Bruce says the integrity of the Premier League may come into question after Ramirez was sent off because of play acting. Bayern Munich have already signed a 2 + 1/2 year contract with Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira. (Source, IN FRENCH: http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Khedira-vers-le-bayern/516806) My Thoughts: 1. I doubt van Persie will leave with Man United improving but the Red Devils also should not exercise the buy option for Falcao. 2. Ehhhh. Ehhhhhhhhhhhhh. Maloney's good but he's not Premier League quality and I don't think he'll be a huge help to Everton. 3. He's having a giraffe! 2 out of 10 for sure. He's gotten into the right places sometimes but has missed some absolute sitters. In half the games he's been non-existent. 4. The red card did look a little soft but Ramirez did kick out a little. Vertongen did make the most of it. Could have gone either way but should have been a booking and not a sending off in my opinion. 5. This was reported last week and it's looking like this will be one of the early deals in January to go through.
