SyFy Jumping on the Superhero Bandwagon with Krypton

Let no one say that SyFy is going to be left behind in the superhero department, when it comes to producing a show in the super-hot caped trend in television! Not only are they producing a superhero-themed show, they will do you one better. Their origin story will go farther back than any other - because of course we expect for SyFy to take anything farther than anyone else dares. In a good way and a bad way. The name of the series is "Krypton," and apparently the show (according to their own description) is about how "years before the Superman legend we know, the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This series follows The Man of Steel's grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known." I'm moderately intrigued - and I have to say it's a good thing this show is on SyFy. I think it goes way too far into the fantastical, scifi-ish elements of Superman for the general audiences that have bought into the superhero shows on network television. According to E! : "The show, from Warner Horizon TV and DC Entertainment, is being developed by Once Upon a Time's Ian Goldberg along with Constantine's David Goyer, who also helped bring us Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, DaVinci's Demons, and Batman v. Superman. " That seems somewhat promising - I'm a little worried that in typical SyFy fashion, they'll get started on a really promising show, hook me, then leave me hanging. But I guess we got a good run with Eureka and Warehouse 13. What do you guys think of this Krypton idea?
