Aerial Footage from the 1980s

This is a collection of aerial footage which the video creator's father shot in the late 1980's. Harrison Sanborn, the son, got the negatives re-scanned at 2K. Then, he edited it for fun! The piece was largely shot on an Arri IIC with Eastman Kodak 527. These days, we see drone videos from nearly everyone who can afford one. To be honest, it's not hard to take a high quality video, even from amazing heights. But many of these videos lack creativity. They lack something special. They aren't films. This short film, however, was shot aerially and is absolutely stunning: the lines and angles taken aren't unfamiliar, but they feel warm and original even though its been more than 30 years since they were filmed.
