Games for Tots: Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel

This game may have been one of our most successful Christmas presents. My toddler has been having a blast playing Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel with us! There aren't a lot of things the three of us can successfully do together at home, with everyone engaged and enjoying themselves. After all, fun for a toddler is not necessarily what's most fun for adults. But finally, we have another entryway into family fun time! I had been eyeing this board game for a while, actually. It looks very attractive and sweet, and it's one of the few games specifically directed to our youngest little gamers. Here's the premise: "Your forest friends are hungry and they need your help! Spin the spinner, squeeze the matching colored acorn with your Squirrel Squeezers, and place it into your log. Be the first to your log with delicious acorns and you win! You could also spin “pick an acorn,” “steal an acorn,” or “lose an acorn,” so be strategic, little squirrel!" It's simple but actually hits some key board game principles that they'll see in the future. My son likes to play "No Storm" right now (there's a storm on the spinner - and if you land on it you have to blow all your acorns back into the tree), which is okay for a while. But the game rules allow us to gently teach him strategy, as well as that in games sometimes we don't get the one we want, or we have to put one back, or we don't win. We've only padded the game a little tiny bit to help him out ;) I included a video demonstration and images from the Educational Insights website.
