What's Wrong With This Picture?

Besides the fact that somebody paid money for this! And besides the fact that this wedding reception looks like it came from a two-dollar joke shop. (My head voice turning into spoken words, eyes darting to find the bartender for another Kamikazi...) Proportions & Problems: * Dowdy color palate * Cartoonishly tiny table. * Cartoonishly large tufted arm chairs * Cartoonishly large candelabras * Chandeliers are unnecessary Fixable: * Replace arm chairs with Ghost chairs * Nix the chandeliers * Alter the table dimensions * Change the size of the candelabra * Switch out the silver eucalyptus for amaranthus There's nothing wrong with a BoHo-cum-Chantilly vibe for your reception. But if you want to be taken seriously and you want to avoid sarcasm and snicker, then you need to really think about good design aesthetics. Think about it gals, when you order a Cadillac on the rocks, sans salt, easy ice, and a floating shot, is it really OK to serve it in a thermos?! (Rolls eyes because some of you are thinking yes....) C'mon my darlings, share with mama Nixon all your wedding woes. We can imbibe as we plot and plan your wedding dreams.

Budget Bottom-line:

$50 Candelabras (rented)

$30 Flowers (per candelabra)

$25 Flowers (table florals)

$10 Candles

$100 Chairs (rented)

$43 Misc (20% of itemization)

= $258 (per table)

Considering you have 15 tables at $258 each, that's $3870, which is less than $5000. Remember, your tablescape budget should account for 10 percent of your wedding budget. It's okay to go higher, but you must make adjustments elsewhere.
