Leaked Benchmarks Show Galaxy S6 Will Be The Most Powerful Phone Ever Made

Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge: AnTuTu benchmark performance The Galaxy S6 Edge, the curved-screen version of the regular Galaxy S6 model, has supposedly been spotted in AnTuTu’s benchmark database, revealing the phone will offer significant performance improvements over last year’s model. In fact, the Galaxy S6 Edge broke all existing benchmark records, though it’s worth remembering that certain smartphone makers, including Samsung, have been found in the past to optimize their devices for such benchmark apps. As a result, benchmark scores might not always be the most important thing to take into account when comparing devices. According to the leaked test, the phone scored 60,978, basically obliterating anything ever made so far. In fact, it’s currently the highest score ever recorded on AnTuTu. The highest-scoring device in AnTuTu’s database had been the Galaxy Alpha handset with 50,829. The Galaxy S5 came in second with 46,557 points. In addition to benchmark scores, the AnTuTu sighting reveals that the SM-G925W8 model packs a 5.1-inch display with 2560 x 1440 resolution, 2.1GHz Samsung Exynos 7240 processor with ARM Mali-T760 graphics, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 20-megapixel main camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. The specs are very much in line with what BGR recently reported about the Galaxy S6’s hardware and design. The S6 and S6 Edge should be almost identical when it comes to internal components, and therefore should offer similar AnTuTu results. Assuming the benchmark is accurate, it’s also worth remembering these tested devices are still pre-release versions that might be further optimized before launch, to offer even better performance.
