David Tennant to guest-voice on 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars'

David Tennant is no stranger to taking on roles with a preexisting massive, nitpicky, obsessive fanbase: after all, he played Hamlet in 2009. Oh... and he also starred in a little series called 'Doctor Who' for five years. Now, the handsome Brit with the speedy vocal delivery is giving life to a brilliant droid on Cartoon Network's hit series 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars.' Huyang, the droid pictured above, is an ancient design that houses the schematics of every single lightsabre ever designed. Dave Filoni, Supervising Director on 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars,' was eager to find a way to get Tennant involved in the animated series: "When I heard the Doctor himself, David Tennant, was a fan of Star Wars I knew I had to find a way to get in contact with him to see if he would perform on [the show]. “I thought David was perfect for the part and he did not disappoint. He delivered a performance which impressed even the Master himself, George Lucas." 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' has proven its staying power, now amidst its fifth season on the Cartoon Network. A longtime network mainstay, the recent purchase of Lucasfilm by Disney seems to spell the end of 'The Clone Wars' appearance on CN; while the popular show will likely continue, logic dictates that any subsequent seasons will be moved to the Disney Channel.
