5 Facts about Trevor Noah, the New Host of "The Daily Show"

"The Daily Show" and Comedy Central have officially announced that South African comedian Trevor Noah will be replacing Jon Stewart as the host of the popular news commentary program.

But who is Trevor Noah?

I've thrown together a list of five interesting facts about Trevor's life and career before nabbing this incredible (and highly coveted) spot behind the "Daily Show" news desk!

FACT #1:

Trevor Noah was the first South African stand-up comedian to appear on both David Letterman and Jay Leno.

FACT #2:

Trevor Noah appeared with Jon Stewart as a "Daily Show" correspondent in three different episodes.

FACT #3:

Trevor Noah is the star of the David Paul Meyer documentary "You Laugh But It's True", which tells the story of Trevor's life as a South African comedian and his experiences as a bi-racial child during the country's Apartheid - a time when interracial relationships were forbidden.

FACT #4:

Trevor Noah is a polyglot who can speak eight different languages. Six of which are indigenous African languages. (Check out this video of him singing in the Zulu click language!)

FACT #5:

Jon + Trevor = Love. In an official statement on Trevor Noah replacing him on "The Daily Show", Jon Stewart had this to say: "He's a tremendous comic and talent that we've loved working with. In fact, I may rejoin as a correspondent just to be part of it."
