[11th-Apr-15] Match Preview: West Bromwich Albion – Leicester City

Midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu starts a three match ban and will be unavailable for selection for West Brom while the Baggies will have defender Craig Dawson available for selection once again after his suspension. Leicester midfielder Dean Hammond looks set to make his first appearance after beign out for 3 months due to an ankle injury, while Matt Upson has overcome his injury that preventing him from playing against his old squad, West Ham, last weekend leaving no injury concerns for Foxes boss Nigel Pearson.

West Brom have won the last 4 meetings between the sides in all competitions but the Baggies have lost back-to-back Premier League games since Tony Pulis took over as boss. Prior to West Brom’s 4-1 loss to QPR last weekend, West Brom had only conceded 10 goals in 10 games under Pulis, including 6 clean sheets. West Brom’s 23 goals conceded at home is also the worst of any of the Premier League clubs so far this season.

Leicester City’s 2-1 win over West Ham last weekend was the Foxes‘ first win in 9 games for the side but no side in the history of the Premier League with Leicester’s current tally of 22 points or less after 31 games has gone on to avoid relegation or even climb off the foot of the table. Leicester City’s 5 clean sheets all season is tied for the lowest in the league with fellow relegation threatened QPR and the Foxes have also lost 75% of their away games this season with only QPR worse. Leicester’s 5 goals in their last 2 games is the same number of goals that they scored in the previous 8 matches in the Premier League.

Prediction: I think Leicester have been a wildly unlucky side to only have 22 points given their performances, but I still do not seem them bagging any more here. The Foxes looks increasingly unsalvageable at the moment, even after their win last weekend.
