Snack Smarter: What to Eat

I love snacking especially when I'm at work. It was a habit I picked up two years ago while working at a startup. Due to the amount of work, I eat at irregular hours and sometimes I don't even have the time for a proper meal. Which is why I turned to snacks for a quick nourishment. Over time I learn it's vital to choose wisely on the type of snack I consume. If I eat too much processed snack my body will take a toll. When I gain weight, all the fat go towards my stomach (like a beer belly). It's pretty frustrating because everywhere else is slim. If you're a frequent snacker be aware of the snack you eat

1. Dried Fruits

This is a popular option for fulling the daily fruit requirement. These are generally a healthy snack option. Be aware a small serving of dried fruits has more calories than fresh fruits. Just be mindful of how much you consume.

2. Nuts

A handful of nuts are good for your health. Don't go nuts and eat more than one serving because it will ruin your eating habit and you might even experience constipation from overconsumption. Almonds, walnuts, peanuts are some of the healthiest nut choice.

3. Popcorn

I have a weak spot for popcorns especially butter or cheese flavor. However, they are not necessarily healthy. Unsalted or lightly butter popcorn are good snack options (if you don't over consume them). A sandwich ziploc portion is a good rule of thumb.
